Fionnaghal - Meaning "white shoulders" One of the Baobhan Sith
The Baobhan Sith (pronounced "buh-van she" and meaning "spirit woman") are Scottish vampires of the Highlands, beautiful creatures who dance and entrhall men whose blood they suck.
There are many such spirits and their prey was most often men on the road or camped in fields at night.
She is also a shape-shifter and sometimes appears as a hooded crow.
Even when appearing as a beautiful woman, she has deer hooves for feet
which she keeps hidden under her green dress.
Often several baobhan siths will appear together as a group.

A common tale is told of 4 young friends who set off on a hunting trip in the glens, being overtaken by night the men take refuge in an abandoned Shieldig (small cottage).
Darkness falls quickly and the men build a fire in the hearth and set about entertaining themselves. One of them is a talented singer, and sings as his companions begin to dance around the room.
One of the men wishes that they had the company of women and speaks as such. Seconds after he has spoken 4 women appear at the door and begin dancing with the three men.
Suddenly the atmosphere changes and the women become frenzied, imbued with supernatural strength they tear at the dancers and blood begins to spill around the room.
Terrified the young man who was supplying the music runs out of the door with one of the creatures at his heels. He takes refuge between the horses and this seems to create a barrier over which the creature can not cross. He spends a long and cold night between the horses, with the Boabhan Sith circling around waiting for an opportunity to pounce on him. At last dawn breaks and the creature disappears.
When he returns to the shieldig a ghastly sight greets him. All his companions are dead, sprawled around the floor in agonizing positions completely drained of blood.
Traditionally supernatural creatures are afraid of iron, and taking refuge in the wild horses may have saved him because of the horse's iron shoes.

As a traditional Baobhan Sith, Fionnaghal wears a green plush velvet gown and crushed velvet grey fully lined cape, the better to blend into the moors.... Her mouth has been opened and she has been given sculpted fangs, but I didn't give her deer hooves... :-( She's had a full makeover with all of her factory paint removed and artist quality paints used to give her wicked yellow-green eyes and bright red lips.
She also wears a hand beaded necklace and belt - although the medallion on the belt was not beaded by me! LOL
Her below the knee length hair was simply styled over to the side and has other wise been left stricktly alone to flow as it will!
