Athena is the Goddess of Wisdom, Military Victory, Defensive Warfare, Architecture, Weaving, Horses, Purity, Reason, and Spinning. The olive tree was sacred to her and her sacred animal was the owl, which is why owl's are now associated with wisdom. Her primary temple is the Parthenon, built from her direction, and considered even now to be the most perfect building ever built.
As a doll... *grin* - Athena has received a full facial repaint, all of her factory paint removed and she was then hand painted using artist quality acrylics and sealers - given, of course, grey eyes. She wears a white cotton doric chiton with hand painted olive branches along the hems. She carries her famous owl, Athene Noctura (yes, the species was named for her) and a fully sharpened carbon steel spear with a copper shaft. She wears a hand sculpted helmet and against her knee rests her medusa headed shield. She also wears a metal gorget with a chain mail sleeve.
