The Theme for this year is....
oin the asquerade!

- Entries are limited to those belonging to the Legendary Tutorials forum
- All Entries should be emailed to: valkyrie@dolls-n-daggers.com
- All Entries MUST be named.
- ALL dolls are welcome! - Fashion Dolls, Cloth Dolls, Sculpted Dolls, BJD's, Action figures... ALL dolls!
- Entries should be in NO LATER THAN midnight (central time) of October 31, 2010 - although... the earlier you send me your entry, the easier my life will be.
- Late entries will not be accepted.
- (well, there IS a built in fudge factor, I am NOT staying up and hovering over my email with a stop-watch
but... and then again... I'm generally up for the day any time after 3am, so... some lee-way, but not a lot! LOL)
- You may submit up to THREE dolls.
- You may enter all three dolls in one category, or one doll in each category, mix and match as you like!
- You may not enter the same doll in two categories.
- You may enter 'couples' as one entry, or as two separate entries, I'd recommend 'two', I really would.
- You may collaborate with someone else as long as they ALSO belong to the forum
- Experience Levels:
- Beginner: You have completed less than 10 dolls
- Intermediate: You have completed less than 30 dolls
- Advanced: You have completed over 30 dolls
If you collaborate with someone with a different experience level, you must enter the doll under the highest level.
All entries must fit the theme for this year - in this case, they must wear or carry some form of facial mask.
Entries without a mask will not be accepted.
Entries in Best Costume and Best Full Makeover - WILL consist of FIVE pictures - not two, not six.... FIVE. Because the theme this year is "Join the Masquerade" we'll need an extra picture:
- One face shot with mask
- One face shot WITHOUT mask
- One full front
- One full picture of the back.
- One picture of your favorite details.
- A collage counts as one picture.
- Pictures should be as large as you can possibly make them.
- If your doll is HOLDING her mask, you do not HAVE TO take a picture of the doll with the mask on the face.
Entries in the Best Repaint/Face-up category only require two pictures, although you MAY submit up to five.
Pictures should be at 72dpi and as large as you can send them.
Bigger is better!!
I RESERVE THE RIGHT to alter the size of your pictures, adjust the lighting, contrast, label, crop, rotate, create thumbnails, and otherwise adjust them in whatever manner will make life easier for me to get this contest set up in an attractive and functionally uniform fashion.
A judging 'rubric' will be available fairly soon - but, basically, we go by DETAILS - details, details, details.....
|

-
Judging will consist of 50% popular vote, and 50% judges recommendation.
-
There will be between four and six judges:
-
Me *grin*
-
One of the forum moderators
-
An artist not belonging to the forum
-
A collector-not-artist
-
Each doll will be individually evaluated by each judge, and there will be a
comment section for each item judged - you will receive all comments from all judges.
- I will post the juding rubric (ie. what you're being judged ON - the judging form that all judges will use) here
-
Popular vote will simply be a "best of category' vote - although the popular
vote ballots will also contain comment sections.
- You may comment on ALL dolls, not merely those you vote for.
-
The entries will be listed to be voted on for one week.
-
Judges (except me) and voters WILL remain annonymous
-
At the end of the contest I will email each entrant a PDF file of their vote
totals and all comments given for their doll
-
It's not just a contest, it's a learning opportunity! *grin*
